About the role
We are looking for a self-motivated and high achieving Inventory Demand Planner wanting to take full ownership of the demand planning & inventory function.
The successful candidate will have several years' experience, a strong skill set and proven track record, be a team player, possess attention to detail, be able to work autonomously, and leverage their experience in to contribute to adding value through process improvement, inventory control and materials cost management.
Your duties will include:
- Maintaining and developing our demand planning system that utilises sales forecasts to customer and product level in order to produce production plans.
- Managing the alignment between the sales demand forecast & operations, communicating any divergences from normal operations with the operations team.
- Coordinate with the production scheduling team and the sales and distribution teams to ensure the supply of material & production is in line with the production demand plan.
- Monitor demand fluctuations & forecast risks in order to develop risk mitigation plans.
- Regularly analyse inventory to identify fast and slow-moving stock.
- Key resource for inventory control business initiatives that aim to optimise stock levels and increase turnover of stock.
- Key resource for continuous improvement of inventory management processes and procedures.
- Identify and support revenue enhancement opportunities including analysis of inventory levels e.g. slow moving SKUs, seasonal trends.
- Key member of our new product development initiatives.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in demand planning/inventory control;
- Experience in the Food Industry or FMCG will be held in high regard;
- Excellent forecasting modelling skills
- Excellent MRP and ERP skills
- Direct involvement in implementing forecasting tools/systems is well regarded;
- Advanced excel & business intelligence skills with a proven ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets;
- Commercial acumen
- Experience developing & implementing demand planning systems
- Analytical background: you can mould and understand data to drive action and results.
- An inquisitive mind, which can identify issues/anomalies and follow them through to a logical conclusion.
- Ability to deal with high pressure scenarios in a calm and systematic manner.
- A willingness to learn, be challenged and be part of a team of like-minded people.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- APICS Certification will be highly regarded
- Experience with SAP will be advantageous
